On January 29, 2025, Mr. László Havas, Ambassador of the Permanent Delegation of Hungary to the OECD and UNESCO, visited the Permanent Delegation of Italy to International Organizations at the invitation of the Italian Ambassador, Mr. Luca Sabbatucci.
The reception was held in honor of the Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), Mr. Fatih Birol, who received the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in recognition of his outstanding and dedicated work over the past years.
Hungary has been an active and committed member of the IEA since 1996. Furthermore, in 2020, Hungary was among the first countries to make a legal commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
