On January 29, 2025, Mr. László Havas, Ambassador of the Permanent Delegation of Hungary to the OECD and UNESCO, visited the Permanent Delegation of Italy to International Organizations at the invitation of the Italian Ambassador.
2024. december 17-én a párizsi UNESCO székház adott otthont az "Echoes of Hungary" című ünnepi eseménynek a magyar Állandó Képviselet és a párizsi Liszt Intézet szervezésében, amely kettős célt szolgált: a meghívottak a csárdás hagyományának felvételét az emberiség szellemi kulturális örökségének reprezentatív listájára, valamint Magyarország uniós soros elnökségének lezárását ünnepelték.
2024. december 9-13. között Párizsban jártak Magyarország ENSZ Ifjúsági Küldöttei, Brimo Widad és Wett Annamária. A küldöttek érdekes eszmecserét folytattak Havas Lászlóval, Magyarország OECD-hez és UNESCO-hoz delegált nagykövetével is.
2024. december 9-én Barcelonában tartották az UNESCO és a Barça Alapítvány által alapított Fit for Life Network Against Racism nyitórendezvényét, amely a sportban tapasztalható rasszizmus elleni küzdelemre fókuszál. Magyarországot Mohamed Aida hétszeres olimpikon képviselte, akit Havas László, Magyarország OECD és UNESCO mellé rendelt nagykövete kísért el az eseményre.
Hungary's Csárdás dance tradition has been officially inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The announcement was made on December 4, 2024, during the UNESCO committee's meeting in Asunción, Paraguay.
2024. november 20. és 23. között rendezték meg Budapesten a Magyar Tudományos Akadémia (MTA), az UNESCO és több más partnerszervezet közös szervezésében és részvétele mellett a Tudomány Világfórumát (World Science Forum).
The Permanent Delegation of Hungary to the OECD and UNESCO hosted a National Day reception on November 6 at the OECD, Château de la Muette, attended by more than 100 guests, including OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann, H.E. Mr. György Habsburg, Hungary's Ambassador to France, the European Union's Ambassador and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO H.E. Ms. Christina Kokkinakis, H.E. Ms. Simona-Mirela Miculescu, the President of the UNESCO General Conference, Mr. Márton Bókay, Deputy State Secretary for Economic Development and International Financial Relations of the Ministry for Economic Development of Hungary, several high-level OECD officials, as well as OECD and UNESCO Ambassadors, fellow diplomats and experts to commemorate the Hungarian Revolution of 1956.
On November 6th, as part of the Hungarian EU Presidency and based on its priorities, the Hungarian Permanent Delegation, in collaboration with the OECD Economics Department, hosted the workshop "Boosting Competitiveness: Major Challenges and Key Drivers" at the OECD headquarters.
H.E. Mr. László Havas, Permanent Representative of Hungary to the OECD and UNESCO laid a wreath at the symbolic tomb in Père Lachaise dedicated to Imre Nagy and the martyrs of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight.
During UNESCO's 220th Executive Board session, Hungary reaffirmed its commitment to multilateral cooperation, advocating for education, science, culture, water management, and gender equality, while supporting UNESCO's peace and sustainability goals as EU Council President.
