The main objective of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), founded in 1961, is to promote sustainable economic growth, increase employment, living standards, financial stability and the expansion of world trade, in cooperation with the Member States. In addition to economic policy in the narrower sense, the OECD also provides international statistics and analyzes on a number of other policy areas, it provides a forum for exchange of experience and good practice between Member States, develops recommendations for international policy standards and supports Member States' policies.
