What is the impact of the global outbreaks of the coronavirus on the global economy and our everyday life? How can we strengthen the efficiency of healthcare systems, support the companies, preserve jobs and stabilize the financial markets? The OECD is looking for the answer on these questions and similar issues as well. The Organisation has recently launched a specific page on its website to present ongoing and wide-range analytical work on the coronavirus.

The global health crisis caused by the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, is a major challenge for national governments as itself but the resulting global economic and financial crisis still has serious economic and social consequences even after the improvement of the epidemic.

Besides the control of the spread of the virus, it is a complex task as well to restart the economic activity that has stopped due to health protection- and containment measures, to minimize the welfare losses and to improve socio-economic resilience to similar shocks.

The OECD with its several years’ unique multidisciplinary expertise of evidence based and analytical work in various policy areas has the capability to identify and address the complex health, economic and social challenges associated with the coronavirus crisis.

Based on this, an online platform has launched on the organisation's website, gathering the various policy responses of OECD member countries (and key partners) during the coronavirus crisis, as well as making recommendations for the appropriate, relevant and internationally coordinated government interventions.

The information that has made available by the Organisation covers a wide range of policy measures to tackle the crisis including economic, social, health, tax and financial policies and also measures for small and medium-sized enterprises, tourism or even education too.
